Portrait exhibition, Amsterdam
Hello! It really has been a while since I was in touch! So much has happened in the world, and I've been busy in my studio and teaching painting and drawing at the Wackers Academie.
Most of my work in the last while has been focused on still life, and if you follow me on social media you will probably have seen many flower paintings passing by. These are available in Ross Fine Art, Ramelton, Donegal, Gallery 1608, Bushmills, Co. Antrim and in Kilbaha Art Gallery on the Loop Head Peninsula. The wonderful Hiromi Nakai of Galerie Nakai in Tournus also has a couple of pieces in stock. I've selected a couple and added them at the end of this post.
But, as you know, I do love portraiture and a portrait I completed last year of my niece, Julia, was selected for the Weekend van het Portret next weekend in Amsterdam.
"Julia", oil on panel, 29 x 39 cm
I'm sure it will be a wonderful exhibition, as always, although slightly less busy because of COVID restrictions. The exhibition opens on Friday evening (with very restricted numbers ) and runs until Sunday. I plan to be there on Saturday afternoon (from about 2 pm) if you want to come along and meet me in person.
And here are some of my most recent still lives:
"Summer Blooms, oil on panel, 20 x 20 cm
"Asparagus Tips", oil on canvas, 20 x 20 cm
"White and Yellow Roses", oil on panel, 30 x 30 cm
"Yellow and Blue Bouquet", oil on canvas, 21 x 32 cm
That's all for now! Perhaps I will see you this weekend at the exhibition. And if not, hopefully our paths will cross in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in my paintings, and do feel free to get in touch if you have any queries about purchasing or tuition or just a visit to my studio!
Best wishes,
Bairbre
