Hi all,
Just a short note to let you know about some courses I'm running in the near future.
After a successful course last year, I'll be back at the Schoolhouse in April teaching a four day course. There are still a few places left, so grab your chance!
You know, a long time ago, I used to not allow myself to paint flowers, dismissing them as "too conservative, too bourgeois", but once I finally gave in to the urge to paint them, I never looked back! Honestly, you can learn so much from their colours, their shapes, their textures - if you want a bootcamp in how to mix colour, how to use paint, then they will be your teacher! What are you waiting for? It will be four days of colour and learning!
Here's another course I'm very excited about: Painting Loose on a Strong Foundation. I get so many students who want to "loosen up", get nice juicy brushstrokes, and are frustrated with how tight their paintings are! This
course is designed to tackle this head on, based on my firmly held belief that a good solid structure is basically non-negotiable if you want to loosen up. Having a process you know and trust, and some exercises up your sleeve to get out of a rut is priceless. Summer Masterclass: Le Grippault - 12-18 July 2026
After a brilliant week last year painting at Le Grippault, we of course had to run it again! As it looks right now, the course is full, but it's always worth enquiring and signing up for a waiting list and to make sure you're informed next year!

I will be sending out separate info about it, but the Biennale of the Dutch Portrait Society is coming up, May 27 to 31 in Loods6 in Amsterdam. jam packed with paintings and 3D work, with all kinds of fringe events.
