End of Summer
Hi there!
Hope your summer was as much of a blast as mine! I gave painting courses in Le Grippault in the Loire, and in the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry. And also managed to get some holiday time with lots of swimming in as well. Not much painting, but lots of ideas which I'm working on now, back in Amsterdam.
Painting Masterclass at Le Grippault
The painting courses in Le Grippault were such fun, with amazing people, everyone in good humour and enthusiastic to learn! And a joy to work with Leonoor and Jeroen again at Le Grippault again, who have made this place the most inspiring place to visit.
The dates are set already for next year: May 23 - 29 and September 19 - 25. We've chosen slightly cooler. months to cater for those who find the heat a bit too unbearable.
So if you fancy joining , get in early and book your spot!
In other news, a favourite painting of mine " Beach Life" will be exhibited at the Annual Exhibition of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, which opens today at the Mall Galleries in London. The exhibition runs until 26th September. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the exhibition, but would love any photos that any of you make of the hang and some of the works on show. Honestly, email me or DM me on Instagram.
The painting was painted during a heat wave in September on Ballybunion Beach in Co. Kerry in Ireland, a truly magnificent beach it has to be said, and the wet sand is so reflective it just had to be painted.....
The entire exhibition can be browsed and work can be bought on the Mall Galleries website.
For the fifth year running, we kicked off the the Cornerstone course last weekend in the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry. A brand new group of very enthusiastic students who want to take their art journey more seriously. Ten weekends to focus on learning about the thing you love to do, from 4 professional artists. Its a programme I designed, and I'm very proud of all the students who have followed the course over the past five years. There are in fact still a couple of places left, so contact the Schoolhouse if you think this might be up your street!
Open Studios - Save the Date - Sunday 15 November 2026
On Sunday 15th November we will be having our biannual Open Studio Day at BK49
This is always an amazing day when all the studios in my studio complex are thrown open for the public to come and explore what goes on behind our doors. So this is just a "save the date" for now - more info will follow!

As some of you know, I offer private individual teaching and mentoring throughout the year. All my spots are full right now, but please get in touch if this interests you. I'm also available to teach private groups: so get in touch with your ideas and we can wrok something out!
